 "Text neck" comes from that hunched over position we all find ourselves in when glancing down to look at our phones. What may seem like not a big deal can end up leading to a lot of increased pressure on your neck, leading to strain and injury!

So, what's the best way to avoid "text neck"? Here are a few simple tips, courtesy of the American Chiropractic Association:

  • Check your posture! The best way to sit up straight is to make sure you're sitting up straight.
  • Raise your arm so that your phone or mobile device is level with your eyes, rather than tilting your head and neck down.
  • Rest your arms on a pillow.
  • Avoid texting for long periods of time.

Ultimately, avoiding long periods of smartphone use and making a few simple adjustments will have you standing straight for years to come!
